PCB microscope

The SANXO-Scope HD is the most cost effective equipment to conduct simple, non-destructive visual inspection tests during the PCB quality control process. Full traceability of the printed circuit boards is handled by the QR code reader of the digital microscope right at the inspection workbench.

PCB microscope at soldering quality control

The SANXO-Scope HD helps detect the issues affecting PCB assembly and brings you closer to achieving Zero Defect Manufacture.
Question: – Why use a digital microscope at PCB quality control? Answer:

  • Quicker identification of solder joint failure
  • Improving quality by detecting error
  • Reducing costs of labor by quicker inspection time

SANXO Digital microscope helps judging the soldering quality by analyzing these:

  • solder joint is even and smooth
  • the solder mask is not covered by solder
  • there is no crack or void at solder joint
  • the pins of the components align neatly to the pcb pad
    component pin area in contact with pad is completely covered with solder;
  • components of the board are not covered by solder

PCB quality control methods

Small or medium production batches are commonly controlled by human workforce using a microscope, but at larger scale manufacturing Automatic Optical Inspection – AOI – can further optimize operating expenses in microelectronics. SANXO-Scope HD microscope is the answer for the smaller, flexible producer and the SANXO DOCTOR AOI is the automated equipment to reduce labor cost of the PCB assembly

PCB microscope at quality inspection

The operator of the SANXO-Scope HD digital microscope can ergonomically check, digitally report and even video record the inspection of the following points:
unwanted etch resist has been stripped away properly
all the unwanted copper has been etched away

PCB visual inspection checklist

To detect production failure at Through-Hole Technology – THT – quick measurement of the drill diameters is necessary. To ensure that the size of the holes will be correct, the inspector can quickly assign 3 points on the magnified image taken by the digital microscope and SANXO-Scope software will display the exact diameter. The quality controller can evaluate if it is within the allowable tolerance of error.

PCB final inspection with digital microscope

The final inspection of your PCB is the last chance to evaluate your product. SANXO provides free online training with the digital microscopes. Your floor staff conducting final PCB assembly inspections will have the necessary know-how or the quality control metrics to accomplish enhanced reliability.
